Medical Assistant

Renaissance Plastic Surgery in Macon is seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant to support our board-certified plastic surgeon in providing exceptional pre- and post-operative care. This role involves clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-touch surgical environment. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and passionate about patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam and procedure rooms for in-office surgical consultations and minor procedures
  • Assist the plastic surgeon with in-office treatments, sterile setup, and suture removal
  • Take patient vitals, record medical history, and maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Provide clear pre-operative instructions and post-op care guidance to patients
  • Assist with dressing changes, wound care, and patient follow-ups
  • Support surgical scheduling and coordination with outside surgery centers or hospitals
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and HIPAA-compliant clinical environment
  • Communicate with patients with empathy and professionalism throughout their surgical journey
  • Collaborate with front desk, nursing staff, and providers to ensure seamless care

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred
  • Experience in a surgical, dermatology, or plastic surgery setting strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable assisting with wound care, sterile procedures, and aesthetic treatments
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and surgical documentation
