Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Dr. Mac’s post-operative patients, responding to texts and calls, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Conduct post-operative patient check-ins the day after surgery.
  • Perform and manage post-op appointments, including drain and suture removal (in the absence of a Medical Assistant).
  • Complete pre-operative appointments and related paperwork for Dr. Mac’s patients.
  • Accurately document chart notes for all patient appointments and input Dr. Mac’s notes and measurements during consultations.
  • Input and e-scribe patient medications, review patient history, verify and update medications, allergies, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMN.
  • Capture and ensure iPad photos are uploaded to patient charts for every visit.
  • Assist with tissue expander expansions for reconstruction patients.
  • Manage prior authorization requests, submitting insurance plans and prior authorization paperwork to the appropriate team members.
  • Push charges for all appointments, ensuring accuracy.
  • Sign dictations and assist in cleaning up EMN’s as needed.
  • Complete and manage FMLA paperwork for patients.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA/OSHA requirements in daily operations.
  • Provide support for other physicians, pods, exams, procedures, and visits as needed.

Additional Responsibilities (When Medical Assistant Isn’t Available):

  • Make referrals and order diagnostic tests (mammograms, MRIs, X-rays) requested by Dr. Mac. Track and follow up on results.
  • Order CTA’s and Coag panels for DIEP surgeries and communicate with patients. Notify the MA for follow-up on results.
  • Handle first post-op appointments, including taking photos, removing drains or sutures, discussing starter kits or scar gel, and completing the RSC patient questionnaire.
